In order to build with, through and for the youth on the noble and generous initiative of a common world a historic milestone in interfaith relations, to create a space in which Christian and Muslim students and those of good will from all faiths and none can meet in common affirmation of love of God and of a neighbor, an affirmation that is the core of our humanity, in order to impart to our students the truth that it is possible for them to build a culture of harmony, peace, tolerance, brotherhood and mutual respect among cultures and religions in a world too often marked by fear, mistrust, hostility and religious intolerance based on ignorance, the youth network for interreligious brotherhood (YOUNIB) by the Assumptionnist fathers (also known as Augustinians of the assumption) in the archdiocese of Nairobi has for many years organized an interfaith school choir competition against hatred and religious intolerance. It is an interfaith festival between school choirs where Christians, Muslims and students of good sing together in the same school choir for love, peace and unity in our country, in Africa and in the world. The competition is called concert of choirs of secondary school in Nairobi (COCHOSESCHONA in acronym). Many schools have participated in this amazing interfaith gathering.
To mention a few of them: Bishop Mazzoldi Secondary school YOUNIB choir of the Evangelizing sisters of Mary Nairobi; Precious Blood Riruta YOUNIB choir; State House Girls YOUNIB choir; Saint Martin’s Kibagare YOUNIB choir; Loreto Girls Msongari YOUNIB choir Secondary School Nairobi ; Moi Forces Academy YOUNIB choir; Enoomatasiani Girls YOUNIB choir; Mont Carmel Convent secondary School YOUNIB choir; Assumption High School YOUNIB choir; Komarock Secondary School YOUNIB choir; Koma Ranch Boys High School YOUNIB choir; Saint Thomas Aquinas Girls Nairobi YOUNIB choir, and many others.
